Prospect is named after Prospect Hill, which gave early colonists a 'prospect' of the surrounding countryside. The hill was most likely named by Lieutenant Watkin Tench in 1790. Quarrying later removed much of its dolerite, and the eastern part of the hill now sits in Pemulwuy.

Prospect Reservoir, completed in 1888 as part of the Upper Nepean Scheme, sits within Prospect Nature Reserve in the Western Sydney Parklands and has picnic areas and playgrounds. Other landmarks include St Bartholomew's Church and cemetery and the Royal Cricketers Arms hotel, built in 1877.

Site checks for a food truck Prospect event

Every booking starts with three checks: level, stable ground; clear width and height for the truck on the way in; and one fixed parking position for the whole service. Prospect bookings range from house parties to workplaces in and around the suburb. Homes usually have a driveway or kerbside spot that suits the truck. Picnic areas in Prospect Nature Reserve are managed land, so any food vehicle needs approval from the land manager before you book. Business sites need sign-off from the property or site manager. A photo of the spot with your enquiry lets us confirm it quickly.

Menu and prices for Prospect events

The menu is short on purpose, so the line keeps moving and every item is made the same way each time. These are our current menu prices:

Menu itemPrice
Taco x3$23
Double Cheese Burger Taco$22
Freak Bowl$21
Loaded Tater Tots$20
Nachos (cheese, salsa and toppings)$19
Corn Ribs x6$12
Small Tater Tots$8

Soft drinks can be added on the day. Taco fillings and Freak Bowl ingredients are confirmed at booking.

Per-head catering packages

  • Single main: from $23 per head, food only. The simplest option for a big crowd.
  • Mains and sides: about $28 per head, adding sides such as Loaded Tater Tots or corn ribs.
  • Full menu: $30 to $35 per head, so guests choose anything at the window.

As a guide, a single main suits a quick work lunch, while the full menu suits a party where guests come back for seconds. Travel to Prospect is shown as a separate line in your written quote.

Who books a food truck Prospect service

Prospect bookings come from families planning birthdays and gatherings, workplaces and depots in and around Prospect shouting their teams, and community groups planning events in approved spaces. Hosts like that nobody has to cook, set up a buffet or wash trays afterwards; guests simply walk up to the window when they are hungry.

Steps to book a food truck Prospect visit

  1. Send your date, start time, guest numbers and the Prospect address through the quote form.
  2. Tell us where the truck will park and who approves the site, and add a photo if you can.
  3. Choose a package: single main, mains and sides, or the full menu.
  4. Receive a clear written quote showing food, service time and any travel separately.
  5. Confirm, and we arrive, set up, serve and leave the site clean.

Food safety and approvals

Freak Eats operates as a mobile food business under the NSW Food Authority guidelines for mobile food vendors. Councils, schools and venue managers can set their own conditions for food vehicles, so tell us who manages your site and what paperwork they ask for. We will supply what they need before the day.

Dietary needs

Tell us about dietary needs when you enquire. Several items can be built without meat and typically suit vegetarian guests; confirm the details at booking. We do not claim vegan, halal or gluten-free certification, so please discuss any allergy needs with us directly before the event.

Planning checklist for a food truck Prospect booking

  • Confirm the date, start time and how long you want the service window open.
  • Count adult and child guests separately so we can suggest the right package.
  • Choose the parking spot and check it is level, with clear access and no low branches or overhead wires.
  • Get written approval from the venue, school or council if the event is not at a private home.
  • List any dietary needs or allergies among your guests.
  • Let neighbours know if the truck will park on the street for a few hours.
  • Decide whether you want soft drinks added to the order.

Send these details with your enquiry and your Prospect quote comes back complete, without a long back-and-forth.

Food truck Prospect: questions, answered

Where is Freak Eats based?

Our kitchen base is at 3 Drury Pl, Hebersham NSW 2770, in the City of Blacktown. It is a kitchen, not a shopfront, so the truck comes to your Prospect address for private bookings and you never need to collect food or arrange delivery.

How much does food truck catering cost in Prospect?

From $23 per head for a single main, about $28 per head for mains and sides, and $30 to $35 per head for the full menu. Those figures are food only. Any travel to Prospect is shown as its own line in your written quote.

Can the truck come to a workplace or depot in Prospect?

Yes, if the site manager approves the truck on private property, such as a car park or loading area. Send the address, headcount and your lunch window. We will quote a simple per-head option so the team can be served within a normal break.

How much space does the truck need?

A level, stable hardstand, clear vehicle width and height on the way in, and one fixed parking position for the whole event. A driveway or wide kerbside spot usually works. Send a photo of the spot with your enquiry and we will confirm it suits.

Can I walk up and order in Prospect without a booking?

Only on our public trading dates at host venues, which are listed on our events page. Most weeks the truck is out at private bookings, so for a party, work day or fundraiser in Prospect the way to get Freak Eats is to book the truck.

How do I book the Freak Eats food truck for Prospect?
